Who we are

HYFO (“HYFO”, “we”, “us”) is an independent app. For any question about this policy or your data, email aman@amanyadav.xyz.

What the app stores on your phone

HYFO saves what you enter, in a private database inside the app on your device:

• Profile: your name, height, birthday and gender, if you choose to give them. They're used for greetings, to work out your age and BMI, and to make Home a little warmer on your birthday. Your birthday stays on your phone.
• Health: weight entries, daily calories and any steps you add yourself.
• Money: the income, expenses, savings and investments you add (amount, category, date and an optional note), your monthly and category budgets, recurring payments and savings goals. HYFO never connects to banks, UPI apps or SMS.
• Focus: the apps you choose to keep an eye on, your daily limits, daily time in those apps and your focus sessions.
• Settings: reminder times and your other preferences.

This data is left out of Android's cloud backup and device-to-device transfer, so it never leaves your phone that way. Because of that, uninstalling HYFO or losing your phone also removes it. Use Settings → Export your data to keep your own copy.

What the app reads from your phone, with your permission

HYFO asks for each permission only when you reach the feature that needs it. You can turn any of them off in Android settings.

• Usage access: shows how long apps are open and which app is on screen, so HYFO can show your app time, apply your limits and run focus sessions. If you leave “Delivery orders” on, HYFO also notices a visit to a food or grocery delivery app and asks whether you ordered, so you can add the amount yourself. It does not show what you do, read or type inside any app, and HYFO never sees your orders or payments.
• Installed apps: the list of apps on your home screen, so you can pick which ones to track.
• Health Connect: only the data types you allow: steps, exercise sessions (type, duration and distance), distance, active calories burned, sleep sessions, weight and height. HYFO never writes to Health Connect and never reads any other health data. These readings are shown on screen and in widgets and are not stored by HYFO. If you allow background access, HYFO also reads them while it's closed, only to notice when you reach a goal you set and tell you in a notification.
• Notifications: for the reminders and limit alerts you turn on.
• Do Not Disturb: to silence notifications during a focus session and turn them back on afterwards.
• Display over other apps: to cover an app you've chosen to block the moment it opens, and (with HYFO Pro) to show the pause screen over an app when you reach its limit.

Everything HYFO reads this way is used only to show you your own progress on your phone. It is not sent anywhere, sold, shared or used for advertising.

HYFO's use of information received from Health Connect adheres to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

What leaves your phone

• Your data doesn't come to us. HYFO has no accounts and doesn't send your entries anywhere, so we can't see, sell or share them.
• Feedback you choose to send (from the app or this website) reaches us by email: your message, the kind of feedback, and your email address if you add one so we can reply. From the app it also includes the app version and phone model, to help with bugs. We use it only to improve HYFO and to reply, and we delete it when asked. The email is sent through Resend, our email provider.
• HYFO Pro purchases are handled entirely by Google Play. Google processes your payment under the Google Privacy Policy. The app only learns whether you have an active subscription; we never see your card or payment details.
• Exports create a file on your phone, and you choose where to share or save it.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your data stays on your phone until you delete it. Settings → Delete your data erases everything HYFO has stored, and uninstalling the app does the same. Since we don't hold a copy, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.

This website

hyfo.in is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel handles basic request data such as your IP address to serve and protect the site. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page visits. It doesn't use cookies, and we can't use it to identify you. The site has no accounts; its only form is the feedback form, described above.

Children

HYFO is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly offer it to them.

Changes to this policy

If how HYFO handles data changes, we'll update this page and its date. If the change matters, we'll also say so in the app before it takes effect.
